WAIPAHU, O‘ahu — Kamehameha Schools – Hawai‘i was the only BIIF team to emerge victorious from the HHSAA boys soccer Division I and Division II state quarterfinals on Thursday at the Waipi‘o Soccer Complex.
Both of the BIIF’s DI representatives, Waiakea High and Kealakehe High, suffered losses — as did Hawaii Preparatory Academy.
The semifinals and consolation matches will take place today, with the final rounds slated for Saturday night.

KS-HAWAI‘I
The No. 1-seeded Warriors routed Leilehua high 8-0, securing their trip to the DII semifinals.
KSH came out firing, scoring five goals during the first half of the game. Lucas Kay-Wong scored two, while William Henderson, Iopa Quintana and Micah Chung each scored one.
In the second half, Quintana notched another goal and teammates Gabriel Arquitola and Kamanaopaa Stone also scored.
Now 12-0-0, the Warriors are one step closer to a third straight title match appearance.
At 3 p.m. today, KSH will play against Maui’s Seabury Hall (9-0-0), which defeated Castle 1-0 in another quarterfinal matchup on Thursday.
Leilehua (3-10-1) will fall into the consolation bracket, playing today against Castle (7-4-2).

HAWAII PREP
Ka Makani dropped into the DII consolation bracket, falling 1-0 to Kauai’s Island School in the quarterfinals.
IS’ Sawyer Rogoff knocked in the match’s lone goal late in the first half, and HPA was unable to respond.
Ka Makani (4-7-1) will next take on Waipahu High (3-9-1) today in hopes of reaching the fifth-place consolation match. Waipahu suffered a 4-0 rout to Pac-Five on Thursday.
Island (10-1-1) will play against Pac-Five (6-4-1) in today’s semifinals.

WAIAKEA
No. 3-seeded Waiakea High lost 4-1 to unseeded Punahou School in the DI quarterfinals.
The BIIF DI champions trailed 3-0 until late in the second half, when Aziah Nelson got Waiakea on the board. With little time remaining, Punahou’s William Ruotola scored one last goal for the Buffanblu.
The Warriors are now 7-4-1, and will enter consolation play today in a match against King Kekaulike High (10-3-1) — which lost 2-1 to Mililani High in the quartefinals.
Punahou (10-1-2) is on to the semifinals, where it will face off against Mililani (14-0-0) today.

KEALAKEHE
The Waveriders fell just short of the semifinals, suffering a 2-1 loss in double overtime to No. 1 seed ‘Iolani School.
After trailing 1-0 for most of the match, Kealakehe’s Alex Maira scored a goal at the 72nd minute.
The Red Raiders squashed the Waveriders’ championship hopes when Mike Kostecki scored for ‘Iolani late in the second OT period.
Kealakehe (9-3-0)will be paired up against Kalani (8-4-3) in a consolation match today. Kalani fell 2-1 to No. 4 seed Baldwin High.
If both the ‘Riders and the Warriors win their consolation matchups, they will play a BIIF championship rematch in the fifth place consolation round.
‘Iolani (10-0-2) will play Baldwin (12-0-1) in today’s semifinals.
